Peru at a Glance: Photos

Photos of Peru...in random order (because I can't figure this thing out)

Edi!!!!

Wall at Ollantaytambo. Look how closely the stones are fit together! And the parts that stick out - those are replicas of constellations that the Incas saw (keep in mind this wall is huge - I could only get part of it in my photo)

Ginormous Jesus statue at Saqsayhuaman. Taken at sunset.

Mountainside in Cusco

Machu Picchu. Waynapicchu (big) and Huchuypicchu (small) mountains in the background.

"May Peace Prevail On Earth"
"Que La Paz Prevalezca En La Tierra"
Wood post at the base of the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Llama!!!!!!!!

Cathedral in Cusco

We got caught in a hail storm on our first night in Cusco - bizarre!

View from the top of Saqsayhuaman. Overlooking Cusco.

At the Incan ruins in Ollantaytambo

At Saqsayhuaman. These rocks were huge! Imagine trying to move that sucker up a hill! Apparently the part of the wall that you see in this picture was only 25% of the height of the Temple. That means there were 3 other levels at least that size! It was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadors when it was discovered.

Tarantula at Ollantaytambo.

Peruvian child at Ollantaytambo.

Little girl peeking over a wall in Pisac.

Parque Kennedy at night in Lima.

Beaches at Punto Hermosa.

Sunset at Punto Silencio.

Beautiful.

Parque del Amor in Lima.
